File Size: 2,387kb Zipped, 2,447kb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 67
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
Subject: A guide to gaining massive success on the Internet through a part time effort.
Other Information: Can be bought with Jim Cockrum’s other ebooks The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay and How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash as a discounted, package deal.

ABOUT JIM COCKRUM (AUTHOR OF THE PART TIME PLAN)

The author Jim Cockrum, is a self confessed eBay freak. He also runs “Creative Ebay Selling,” the Internets largest eBay success newsletter with over 100,000 subscribers and growing by the day. Jim has helped launch multiple Internet businesses and has used the Internet as his sole source of income since 2002.

ABOUT THE EBOOK

The Part Time Plan is Jim Cockrum’s third Internet Marketing ebook. In The Part Time Plan Jim explains how you can make money on eBay utilising the “obvious strategy” and the “not so obvious strategy.” The “obvious strategy” is just general selling of items on eBay. However, the “not so obvious strategy” involves implementing more creative strategies on eBay to make your money. The topics covered in The Part Time Plan include:

· Proof of Jim’s Online Income!!
· Details of the Obvious Strategy!!
· Details of the Not So Obvious Strategy!!
· The tools you will need!!
· Selling information products on eBay!!
· Automating your eBay Information Business!!
· Using eBay as a Marketing Tool!!
· Using Amazon as a Marketing Tool!!

The Part Time Plan begins with Jim providing proof of his online income. If you have been a member of Jim’s “Creative Ebay Selling” newsletter for some time or have previously read one of his ebooks then you probably know most of the information in this chapter. However, if you need proof of Jim’s online credential then this chapter explains them very well. In the chapter Jim shows how he was ranked number one at ClickBank with his ebook The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay, and also the huge amount of traffic generated by his website http://www.silentsalesmachine.com/, using screenshots as proof.

Next Jim moves on to describe the “Obvious Strategy” for making money on eBay. The obvious strategy is not the main strategy Jim wants to teach in The Part Time Plan, but he says it can make you money. According to Jim about 95% of eBay sellers implement the “Obvious Strategy” which is simply selling as many highly profitable items as you can. In this chapter Jim emphasises the importance of finding a niche if you are going to implement this strategy and also includes a very informative article on finding a product to sell on eBay or anywhere else online. He also provides links to his favourite wholesale sources where you can purchase products to sell online. Jim then goes on to provide a very valid criticism of the “obvious strategy” on eBay, and one which many people do not consider. Overall, I found this chapter very informative. If you sell on eBay and are not currently implementing more creative ideas to boost your income then this chapter highlights why you really should be. Jim explains his ideas very well, in a clear, concise fashion, and provides valid reasons as to why you should not limit yourself to this strategy.

Following this Jim goes on to explain the “Not so Obvious Strategy.” In this chapter Jim explains how even if you use the “obvious strategy” that you can generate additional revenues by also implementing more creative ideas. Jim then goes on to explain identifies four types of sellers on eBay. The four seller types are those with; “Low Creativity and Low eBay Abandon”, “High Creativity and Low eBay Abandon”, “Low Creativity and High eBay Abandon” and “High Creativity and High eBay Abandon.” In the Part Time Plan, Jim explains each of the four seller types and the various disadvantages of three of them. He then goes on to explain why the best type of seller to be is one with “High Creativity and High eBay Abandon.” This section further highlights Jim’s view that you should not just limit yourself to the “obvious strategy” on eBay. He outlines all the benefits of being an eBay seller with “High Creativity and High eBay Abandon” including extra free time and not being tied to eBay. Overall, I found this chapter to be another excellent section. Jim explains his “not so obvious strategy” by comparing it to the different types of seller you will find on eBay. By doing this, Jim really manages to highlight the benefits of his “not so obvious strategy” in comparison to those who solely operate “the obvious strategy,” which include additional revenue for very little additional work and not being tied down to eBay.

Jim then moves on to explain how to implement the “not so obvious strategy” by selling information products. Jim begins this chapter by providing a list of products that have helped sellers achieve success using the “not so obvious strategy.” He then goes on to explain why you should sell information products. The benefits include high profit margins, a high degree of automation and much more. Jim then moves on to explain how to get ideas for your own information product and how to test if your ideas will be successful. Next he lists a number of topics which are proven best sellers. Jim then moves on to explain how to sell more physical products (if you do already sell them) using information, and then he moves on to list some backend strategies to generate more sales. Jim then finishes the chapter with the story of his best selling ebook, The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay and how he achieved that success. Overall, this chapter provides a very good summary of how you can create your own information product. Although there are ebooks out there that focus solely on this topic and describe it in more detail, Jim explains how to get ideas for your information product and then how to use this information to be successful. He then summarises with the story of how he did it himself. Although it is not the most detailed information you can get, Jim puts it together in an easy to follow, easy to implement way which is ideal for those who are looking to sell their first information product.

The next chapter focuses on the tools you will need to create and sell your information product. For each of the tool types Jim outlines the following tools: DIY (Do It Yourself which is very cheap or free), DIY with Help (Do It Yourself with a bit of help which costs a bit more) and Full Service (Paying someone else to do the job, which is fast and easy but costs the most). In this chapter Jim outlines tools for the following tasks; Product Creation, PDF Creation, Ebook Cover Creation, Editing, Website Creation, Autoresponder (Email List Management), Accepting payments on eBay, Accepting payments on your own Website, Product Delivery after an eBay sale, Product Delivery from a Website and Customer Support. Overall, I found this chapter quite informative. I was already aware of some of the tools Jim mentioned but others are new to me, meaning that I have benefited in some way from this chapter.

In the final chapter Jim provides you with some tips for selling on eBay. These tips include; how to generate leads, what the best price points for selling your product are and when the best times to end your auctions. I have mixed feelings about this chapter. Some of the tips are excellent but some seem simply common sense.

Jim also includes three bonuses at the end of The Part Time Plan. The first is “Run your entire eBay business without ever logging on” which is a video by Jim explaining how you can do just what the title says. The second bonus is “Use the power of eBay as a marketing tool” where Jim explains two creative ideas to draw visitors from eBay to your website. Both of these bonuses are an excellent addition to the ideas in The Part Time Plan, as when implemented they allow you to save time and generate additional traffic. The third and final bonus is “Using Amazon to generate additional traffic” where Jim explains how you can use Amazon to get additional visitors to your website or eBay store.

Overall, The Part Time Plan is a good ebook for those who are beginners in the Internet Marketing world and have not read any of Jim’s previous ebooks. However, if you have already created your product, or you are an avid follower of Jim and his work, then there is little new information for you here. Most (but not all) of the information in this ebook can be located in Jim’s previous two ebooks The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay and The Part Time Plan and his “Creative Ebay Selling Newsletter.” As a standalone product, The Part Time Plan is a very informative ebook that details how you can generate extra revenue using information. Jim explains all his ideas very clearly and backs them up with examples of how he has done it. If you are currently selling on eBay and looking for a way to generate extra revenue then The Part Time Plan is a good text to get you started. However, if you have been following Jim Cockrum for some time then you may have already been presented with the majority of the information within The Part Time Plan.

GOOD POINTS

· Teaches you how to be more creative on eBay to generate additional revenue.
· Jim’s ideas are explained clearly with relevant examples that beginners and experienced seller’s can both follow.
· Provides you with simple but effective methods to find an idea for your own information product.
· Provides a comprehensive list of tools you will need to sell information products on eBay.

BAD POINTS

· Some of the services Jim recommends require additional expenditure.
· If you have been following and reading Jim’s work for some time then you will find few new ideas inside The Part Time Plan.
· There is a little bit too much self promotion of Jim’s other products inside The Part Time Plan.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE PART TIME PLAN

I didn’t actually learn that much from The Part Time Plan as I have been a long time subscriber to Jim’s newsletter and also have purchased his two previous ebooks The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay and How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash. However, I did come across a number of tools that I was previously unaware of through The Part Time Plan.

eBay is a constantly changing auction website. What is popular one month can slip down the pile toward obscurity by the next. With that in mind it can be difficult to identify the best selling items on eBay 2010; after all, providing a list of the items that are currently flying off the shelves would soon be out of date!

It’s good to know that there are some corners of the market that seem constantly popular, such as electrical goods and brand name clothing, but in order to stay on top of the game you need to know how to find the best selling items on eBay 2010.

The internet is often where people will go to find bargains on products that they would otherwise have purchased from the high street. Therefore it is possible to find inspiration regarding the best selling items on eBay 2010 by what is selling well in your local town or city. Have a wander around some shops, keeping your eyes peeled for special offers on popular products. If nothing else, ambling around your local shopping centre could provide some much needed inspiration as to a particular area in which you would like to sell on eBay. After all, there are popular niche markets that you could stumble upon in almost any category, so the best place to start is often with an area in which you are interested.

With your high street research completed you should now take to the computer and load up some large retail websites such as Amazon. Amazon is a useful website because it will inform you of the percentage of people that bought a particular item that you are looking at instead of the item’s competitors. This can really help you to narrow down specific products that are particularly popular. If you aren’t at the stage of finding items yet, you should also be aware that on the right hand side of the Amazon homepage is a Bestsellers list, allowing you to look into each category to see exactly what is selling the most successfully.

Now that you’ve done both your high street and online research, it’s time to head over to eBay itself. Use the free tools provided by eBay, eBay Pulse and the Advanced Search, to discover whether the items that are selling well on the high street and Amazon are also selling well on eBay. In searching around the website you should also start to develop an awareness of other competition that could be faced within one particular area of the market.

Your search for the best selling items on eBay 2010 has taken you to the high street, to online retailers and to eBay itself. If you have taken the time to perform this vital market research you will be well placed to launch some very successful auctions into areas where people are really spending money. But always remember the changing nature of the internet and auction websites; a successful eBay businessperson’s research is never finished!

eBay users are regularly on the lookout for the next top selling items. In an attempt to figure out what to sell on eBay, everyone is looking for those hidden eBay secrets that will revolutionize they way they make money.

Of course, it’s not hard to understand why a person would want to unlock these eBay secrets. Figuring out which items are best is central to turning the fastest profit possible on eBay, both in terms of yielding high sales and minimizing money wasted on investments in products that sell poorly.

One of the biggest markets on eBay in terms of volume is vintage goods including clothing, home furnishings, records and bric-a-brac. This also extends to technology, with old-style cameras and computers fetching a high price on eBay. This is one of the most important eBay secrets for anyone trying to figure out what to sell on eBay.

The fact that vintage items are so popular means those just starting to sell on eBay can get valuable experience by clearing their closet and looking for old items that they no longer wear or use. This is one of the best-kept eBay secrets: cleaning out the closet is profitable and also offers a valuable experience without any investment.

Turning Experience Into Profit

After gaining experience by using vintage merchandise for sale on eBay, newcomers to the website start unlocking their own eBay secrets. At this point, they’re usually ready to start turning a profit.

The first question people in this category need to ask themselves is “What do I want to sell on eBay?” After a round of selling off their secondhand possessions, some are reluctant to shift into a new category. Since vintage goods are so popular, there’s no reason a person can’t stay with what’s already working. However, the problem is there’s now nothing left in the closet. Luckily, one of the big eBay secrets is using other people’s closets. This is where yard sales come into play.

Using Yard Sales to Sell on eBay

The great thing about a yard sale is that it’s in a fixed physical location. Maybe the items for sale have value, but the potential buyers aren’t necessarily going to seek them out. Savvy people who have unlocked eBay secrets know they can purchase these items cheaply because demand is low. But online demand works differently because every person with an interest in that product can easily find it. This drives the price up.

Here are a few vintage items that are easy to sell on eBay:

* Secondhand toys: most children don’t care if their toys are used. They’re too busy having fun!

* Heirloom jewelry: the less it looks like something seen in a department store, the higher its value. This is one of the key eBay secrets.

* Western apparel: this kind of fashion is easy to sell on eBay.

* Reading material: non-fiction sells especially well.

* Sports memorabilia: one of the little-known eBay secrets is that signed collectibles sell better online than at games.

These are just a few tips for those trying to sell on eBay. At the core of all the eBay secrets is the fact that items are instantly worth more if they’re unique, as this eliminates competition. This is why it’s so easy to turn a profit with vintage items.

Many people have become successful on eBay. Here you are, maybe just starting out and you ask yourself, how did they do it and can I really make it? Yes you can and if you read on you will see for yourself.

The strategy I am talking about has been used over and over and over again, and is still making people rich. In fact, eBay reports that 750,000 people are doing this already!

Could you be one of them? Look it, if this many people are already doing it, why can’t you? You can, but even better, you can learn from those who have gone before you and you can take their success steps and ditch their disasters. Do not look at other vendors in distaste, but learn from them, become friends with them, talk to them, watch how you will grow.

Your mission is simple. It should look something like this;

Sell as many highly profitable items as you can. That is it. You will sell a lot of stuff, making good profit, and becoming more successful.

It sounds simple because it is simple, but at the same time this is a great way to make a living. Be open minded.

Of course you should probably start by selling all the stuff in your closet. Have fun scouring through your “junk”, and watch how other people price your “junk”.

Look in your attic for merchandise, you have probably forgotten you had most of that stuff right? And now that stuff can bring in income, great.

Have any family? Do they have closets and attics, go ahead and sell their stuff too. Friends? Attics or closets? Yes you are right, sell their stuff too! Oh yes, lest I forget, neighbours? Okay you are getting the picture right?

This is not rocket science. It works. As you are selling all this “junk” you are learning more and more about eBay. How to better list each item, what draws buyers to your auctions, all kinds of valuable lessons.

Do not necessarily rule out larger items. If you can sell them for a good price, the hassle will not seem as bad.

Think about the popularity of your merchandise. If it is really popular you may notice it is harder to sell, if it is a hard to find item, easier to sell.

So now you have pretty much cleared out your house and your Mom’s house, your Grandmother’s house and every other house you can get your hands on, you are ready to move on. Here is the big question, where do I get more items to sell and what should I be considering?

The answer, RESEARCH. You can never under estimate the power of research. There are many research tools to tell you about, and you will find them in my other articles. eBay has many, but it may seem rather daunting to begin searching them out.

In general, you should first find a product that will sell on eBay, then a source of where to get it.

Keep these 3 points in mind before you decide on any given merchandise.

1. Is the item scarce? If you can find this on the shelf at Wal-Mart, it is probably a bad choice. People are searching on eBay for bargains, but also for things they cannot find anywhere else.

2. Is it an item that people really want? Is it desirable to them? An example would be a DVD player. Everyone wants one, but perhaps a vintage cup, not everyone wants it, but collectors of this type really want it. So both are desirable. If the item is hard to find, and people are looking for that, this is a good choice. You see, the item is rare, there is lots of desire, it sells quicker thus making the item rarer. You see how this works.

3. What is the demand for this item? If lots of people desire it the item is in demand. If you only have scarcity plus desire but no demand, you will not sell much. If a valuable item is rare, it is desirable, and lots of people want it, that is the product you want to launch.

Let’s compare new items to this formula. Take DVD’s for example. When they were first released and marketed they were very desirable. They sold out quickly and became scarce, but only when they were first released. Do you see my point?

Antiques, vintage and other collectables on the other hand, are always in demand by individual collectors and by nature are rare, making them more desirable.

The rarer and more desirable an item is, the higher it will sell for, versus an easy to find item. Maybe at some point this rare item will increase in demand, which increases the competition, which makes it even rarer, and you now have a bidding frenzy.

Now you too are making serious money.

You may be trying to decide how to go ahead with your dreams of an online product sales business. Many times a new product seller is torn between creating an eBay store and setting up a web store on your own domain. Because many sellers get their feet wet by offering a few products on eBay, it’s easy to move smoothly into an eBay store, but is it the right choice for your business?

Positioning is Everything

The first thing to remember is that there isn’t anything magical about setting up an eBay store. Some have the idea that an eBay store gets better exposure online than other options. This just isn’t true. An eBay store only gets as much attention as you stir up for it.

eBay users, the people who do find your store, tend to be looking to pay as little as possible for whatever they want. If you’re looking to make a good profit on your products, a traditional web store is usually a better choice. People who find your web store are more likely to be looking for a good product, not just a bargain.

Financially Speaking.

There are costs involved in creating a presence on the web. When you use a Basic eBay Store, you pay the monthly $15.95* plus any insertion and final value fees. With a Watersweb Shop Kit Plus, you get started with one time license fee and a flat rate of $10 per month. You own your shopping cart and never pay any additional insertion or final value fees on your sales.

Let’s Compare Costs For A New Shop Owner.

If you sell 10 products a month for a full year, each valued at about $25 through an eBay store. You would have sold over $3,000 and paid $417 in costs. With Shop Kit Plus, you’re costs would only be $205.00.

Another Comparison.

The difference in fees gets more noticeable as you grow more successful. If you sell 100 products a month for a full year, each valued at about $25 through an eBay store. You would have sold over $30,000 and paid $2,599 in costs. With Shop Kit Plus, you would still only have paid $205.00 in costs. The only time your costs would increase is if you needed additional storage space, server resources or bandwidth. And then your additional costs are still fixed – instead of growing with each additional sale.

It’s Smart Business

It is better to start now with the big picture in mind. Starting a website now means that all of your time spent in promoting your business will have long term value. As you spread the word, you share your domain name and people will remember it.

With some simple search engine optimization tactics you’ll soon start to receive good traffic from the big search engines. At Watersweb Shops, we include several resources to our new store owners for learning how to market your site, optimize for the search engines and target the people who are looking for your product.

You Can Still Use eBay

Once you have your store ready to go, if you want to reach the eBay crowd, list a few items and put a link to your website in your About Me page. This can be a great option for selling your clearance items – that won’t eat up your profits.

Are laser pointers safe to use with dogs for training or play? Some dogs have developed serious “obsessive-compulsive” type behaviors (known as a “stereotypie”) when allowed to chase the dot from a laser pointer, yet others do not develop these behaviors. So how do we know if our dog is at risk of developing a stereotypie when exposed to a laser pointer, and is the light dangerous to our dog’s eyes?

Some breeds seem to have a greater tendency to develop abnormal behavior when exposed to a laser pointer, but these breeds are also popular as Service Dogs and many have been trained to ‘target’ a laser dot in their work without developing abnormal behaviors. So, while some people say that certain breeds should not be allowed to play with laser dots, that does not mean that your particular dog of this breed will develop a stereotypie. Conversely, it does not mean that just because you don’t have a dog of one of these breeds your dog is safe, either.

Some signs that a stereotypie may be developing are:

- pawing or scratching at the area/s where the dot was last seen for more than 1 minute after the dot has gone

- patrolling the area/s where the dot was last seen more than 1 minute earlier

- repeatedly returning to the area/s where the dot has been seen for no apparent reason other than to chase the dot again

- developing strong chasing behaviors for other light or shadow sources

If your dog displays any of the above signs then it is time to stop using the laser pointer as your dog is at risk of developing a serious behavioral problem. You should consult an experienced animal behaviorist if using a laser pointer is important to any of your training goals.

It is strongly recommended that you do not use the laser pointer to play games with your dog. Nearly every dog will enjoy chasing the laser dot, but it is not worth the risk. There are safer games to play, and dogs who enjoy chasing laser dots will probably be just as happy to chase a ball or play tug.

If you are training your dog to ‘target’ a laser dot, then approach training with the aim of minimising chasing behavior. Introduce movement slowly, and be mindful that you are teaching your dog to ‘target’ using some specific behavior that you have defined and trained. I suspect the risk of a stereotypie developing is minimised when training is approached in this manner.

Treatment for obsessive light or shadow chasing should be performed under the guidance of a veterinary behaviorist. Medications are available which may be effective. Do not under any circumstances attempt to punish obsessive light or shadow chasing.

Is the light from a laser pointer safe for a dog’s eyes? Generally, the light emitted from a laser pointer is very weak and will probably only cause temporary dazzling if pointed directly into a dog’s eye by accident. Prolonged or repeated exposure could be harmful and should be avoided.

At the moment almost everybody understands, that iPhone is an inseparable part of our world. You know, a person in up-to-date world can do almost everything with the help of an iPhone. For example, even the things like buying new clothing or selling a car have become more easy with the help of iPhone.

This is really very wonderful tool. Speaking gravely, the number of different application for the iPhones increases almost every day. There are a lot of various apps for buying stuff at Amazon, listening music, using GPS, watching & downloading videos from YouTube, finding out gasoline prices, reading the advertisements about selling a car and much more.

What I personally like about that is the possibility carry almost everything I need (here I’m speaking about the information), including music, the latest newspapers, hot videos just in one pocket of my pants, not thinking where I’ve put this or that device. And what is more, today there is a possibility to use your iPhone in order to help you in using your car.

Of course, you’ll ask: “HOW?”. Not long ago the new application called “Viper SmartStart” was introduced. At the moment it is possible selling all over the internet. The point is, that using this wonderful app you are able to start the engine of your car, unlock its doors, change the temperature in the cabin and some more interesting things. Also with the help of this really magic app you can find your car on the parking without any difficulties.

So, you see, the iPhone is getting to a new niche! And now lots of car owners will be glad to buy the both the Apple product and application for it, which is selling at a reasonable price, buy the way. At this rate it’s necessary to admit that driving a car becomes more and more comfortable and easy, which is really great!

As excited as new iPhone owners are when they take their first iPhone home, eventually, they become used to their new toy, and their level of caution when handling an iPhone wanes. Inevitably, the day will come when the iPhone slips out of a hand and goes crashing across the floor, leaving everyone in the room cringing at the potential damage done. When the guilty party retrieves their phone, revealing a crack in the face, the cycle of emotions will look something like this: anger at themselves, sadness for their iPhone, and eventually, the dread of figuring out what comes next.

While in the early days of the iPhone, a cracked face may have seemed like a veritable death sentence for an iPhone, today this is a common problem. The first step is for users to forgive themselves for having slippery fingers, after which point they should power their scarred iPhone up. If the screen is still functioning, the damage was less serious than it could have been, as the liquid crystal display, or LCD, is still intact. Today’s iPhones have two screens, the exterior screen that we touch to operate the phone, and the LCD, which actually projects the images that we see on the screen.

When the display of an iPhone is functioning after drop that has resulted in a cracked screen, the exterior screen has been damaged, but the LCD is still functioning (if the display does not work, then both the exterior screen and the LCD have been ruptured – much worse). This means that users will need an iPhone glass replacement, rather than the more expensive glass and LCD replacement. An iPhone glass replacement is an extremely common procedure, and one that can be performed at almost any iPhone repair store.

Alternatively, many technically competent iPhone users may be able to perform an iPhone glass replacement themselves. In such cases, these users will simply need to seek out a dealer of iPhone replacement parts and purchase an exterior screen, also referred to simply as iPhone glass. Even users who decide to have their exterior screen professionally replaced should do a quick price check on replacement glass to make sure that the repair shop chosen to perform the iPhone glass replacement has accurately priced their replacement parts.

Whether choosing to replace the exterior screens themselves or to have the job performed by a professional, the most important thing for users to remember is that broken glass is no reason to replace their iPhone in its entirety. The cost of an iPhone glass replacement is a small fraction of the cost of a new iPhone, and chances are that if the damage caused by being dropped, sat on, or otherwise crushed did not even reach the LCD, the rest of the iPhone in question is in perfect working condition. The increase in market share of the iPhone has brought about a cottage industry tailored to fixing damaged iPhones, meaning that at this point, almost any broken component can be replaced in a cost-effective manner. So with the exception of catastrophic injury, deciding to upgrade should be the only reason to give up on an old iPhone.

From logic boards to LCD screens to back covers, http://www.iPhonepartspro.com has everything you need to get your phone back in great shape.

For the last couple of years there has been one dominant force in the smart phone wars. Of course, this phone is known as the iPhone. Every other cell phone company that has tried to compete with the iPhone has ended up failing very badly. Even when the phones would catch up as far as their technical sophistication went, Apple would then release a new revolutionary version of their phone. This same pattern has happened over and over again the past couple of years. Now there is a group of phones that have taken up the mantle to try and challenge the iPhone. These are phones that are based on the Android operating system. If there are any phones that are out on the market right now that can do it, these are the phones that can.

Some people are saying that it is not fair to judge the newer Android based phones against the older iPhone. That we should wait until the latest generation of iPhone is ready to be released. But if you want to buy a phone right now, these are the only stats that you have to go by. So this is how we must judge the phones as of right now. And as of right now, the specs on the Android phones are better. Especially with the newest phones, the Droid and the Nexus One. These phones were made especially to go after the iPhone market. They have made their screens bigger and are trying to compete with the user interface as well.

Android phones are based on the Linux operating system, so this means that a good deal of the phone is open by nature. This is the opposite of the iPhone which is mostly closed off. This might not mean much to the end user, but to developers, it opens up a wide range of things that you can do. For the end users, some of the best features are Live Wallpapers, Browser with HTML5 support, faster hardware speeds than any other phone out there, an active application marketplace, deep integration with Google maps, and a high level camera. Most recently, people that used the iPhone were able to brag that they had a multi-touch interface with their phone. Now they can brag no longer. Android based phones have been upgraded to have multi touch features as well. If the features listed do not make the phones better, then at the very least they are in the same league.

An Android-based phone is an excellent choice for a person that is looking for an alternative to the iPhone. These phones may have started off rocky with the introduction of the original G1, but they have quickly caught up to the best in the field. Another advantage of the Androids is the different types of phones that you can choose from. With the iPhone there is just one standard phone. With the Android phones, each manufacturers has their own phone that they put their own design spin too. Yes, you can have options again.
